Communities Keeping Well
Supporting you to live a healthier life
Communities Keeping Well (CKW) are your GPs, the council’s Public Health team, local voluntary sector organisations and residents working together.
CKW is working with eight communities in Tower Hamlets to prevent diabetes, coronary heart disease and respiratory disease.
Since April 2024, residents have come together through a series of community events to design and lead activities to support a healthier life. As well as making these neighbourhoods a healthier places to live, it’s a chance for our community to get their voices heard on health and help each other out.
In rounds 1 and 2 of CKW, residents applied for up to £2,000 to start their own health and wellbeing project in Lansbury, Limehouse East or Barkantine (Isle of Dogs).
Round 3 of CKW will launch in September 2026. As part of this round, we will provide renewed funding to community projects that demonstrated success in Rounds 1 and 2, helping to strengthen their long-term sustainability and increase impact within local communities.
See below for the free projects that came out of rounds 1 and 2. This list will be updated from September with renewed projects that you can attend!
Want to try a new & free activity in your local community?
Through rounds 1 & 2 of CKW, new projects emerged led by residents to create healthier communities.
